2008|Fearing Brow

The name of this woodland goes back over 450 years. A 'fearing' is local dialect for evil spirit. Legend has it that the lane was haunted by the ghost of a women called the Ealinghearth Dobby, who used to accompany travellers along the lane, announcing her arrival with a strange 'waffling' sound...
