Step into the intriguing industrial past of Stott Park Bobbin Mill.
The atmospheric heritage museum will be the location for a hands-on toy making workshop with Hannah Fox.
Taking the humble bobbin as a starting point we will explore simple materials and methods to create playful objects based on the bobbin. Through wrapping, painting, nailing and tying we will invent beautiful trees, animals, and little figures. Whole scenes may emerge! An autumn craft activity designed to inspire imaginations and rekindle memories of handmade toys from childhood.
There is a material charge of £5 payable to the tutor on the day.
Courses are free if you are unemployed or in full time education although you will have to pay the materials fee. See below for terms and conditions.
Things to bring:
Bring small materials you may wish to use such as buttons or wool and wrap up warm.
Please bring a packed lunch, drinking water and a flask with you each day. Extra tea/coffee and biscuits will be provided on the course.
