La'l Acorns to Great Oaks!

We need your help this Autumn! This year is a good year for acorns (oak seeds). As part of our work to help conserve native species, we would like you to go hunting to plant and grow your own oak seedlings.

The ancient woodlands of the Rusland area are crammed full of oak trees– look for their lobed leaves and acorns sitting in their cups.

Rusland Horizons Trust will eventually be able to take your seedlings to grow on, next summer, at our Polytunnel in the Rusland Valley.
Anyone who successfully raises some seedlings and gets them to us at the Polytunnel will be eligible to be entered into our Seedling Competitions next summer, so get planting!

Downoad our information leaflet and watch our video to get started!

Half-term Forest Adventures  - Thanks to Gareth from Woodmatters for what sounded like a great - if wet - couple of days in the woods on Monday and Tuesday 26th and 27th October, and thanks to those who came along and joined in learning about our wonderful oak trees. Photos to follow...
