Thanks to everyone who got involved in our BioBlitz! Hopefully you enjoyed it and that it’s enthused you for future discoveries.
If anyone is waiting on help with identifications, go to our Facebook page where we will be helping you figure them out there or on iNaturalist over the next few days...
(A Bioblitz! Is a chance to find as many plants and animals as possible in a single place within a set period of time, and can be a really fun and exciting as more and more different plants and animals are discovered. Because of the coronavirus, we are not yet ready to do a big event involving lots of people, but it is a great opportunity for families to do their own mini-bioblitz in their own garden, recording and taking photos of their findings. Gardens can be really important places for wildlife to thrive and if we can get lots of households involved, it will give us important ‘snapshot’ data about the status of wildlife in our own local spot. Our ‘Rusland Horizons Garden Bioblitz’ Facebook event page is where we can share photos on the of our garden discoveries as they happen!)
