Mapped Histories: Celebration and Launch Event

Featherbed. Tweenmost Knott. Peaslands. What do they mean? After many months of exploration, discovery, visits to archives, talking to farmers, and raking about in attics, the Rusland Horizons mapped history project is ready to be revealed! An interactive map of field names and their meanings is about to go live, together with a new guidance booklet on how to research local place names. Our dedicated band of volunteers and project officers is pleased to invite you to join the celebration!

There will be a free hot supper, with lively presentations and a field names related raffle. We would love to see you there. Outback Hall, behind Leven Valley School, Backbarrow. LA12 8QF.
