Spring Woodland Archaeology Surveys 2018

Help to uncover new information about the fascinating history and landscape development of the area through a programme of archaeological survey. There are at least 700 hectares of woodland that have not yet been surveyed. We are working with landowners and volunteers to identify and record the location and condition of archaeological features.

By volunteering with us you will work in the Rusland Horizons scheme area; develop an understanding of archaeology and historic environment; develop survey and archaeological practice skills; gain knowledge of conservation practices and gain knowledge and experience to help with achieving accredited qualifications if you so desire.

Please bring warm and waterproof clothing, sturdy footwear and a packed lunch including drinks. The surveys will involve walking over rough, uneven and sometimes steep ground so you must be physically able and fully mobile to take part.

This is a free event but booking is essential, you can do this by clicking on the link below.
