Spring is coming and it is time to plant the primroses for the Duke of Burgundy. David Eastlick and Cumbria Butterfly Conservation Branch members would like some help to plant 300 primroses on Wednesday 21st March, starting from High Dam Car Park, Finsthwaite at 10 am. The primroses will already be up the hill ready for us to plant just over the boundary on the Graythwaite Estate where the Duke of Burgundy is known to breed. You will need to bring work gloves, a trowel and wear waterproof overtrousers, or bring a kneeling mat, and stout boots as conditions may be wet and rough. If we finish this by lunchtime time (bring your own refreshments), we will be going over to Broad Syke (the other side of the hill) by car, to put in another 50 plants.
Please contact Hilary on 01524 298680 if you with to come along and if possible share lifts as car parking spaces are limited.
