Volunteer Guides, Coordinators and Experts needed. Can you help?
We are planning a big community ‘bioblitz’ event over 24 hours on 30th June/1st July based at Bowkerstead Farm, Satterthwaite. A Bioblitz is a fun and scientific event to discover as many species of plants, animals and fungi as possible over 24 hours. It will provide a snapshot of the variety of life in the woodlands, fields, tarns and waterways in this diverse part of the Rusland area which will be gathered and used by the Cumbria Biodiversity Data Centre. It will be an amazing opportunity to learn together and share expertise and enthusiasm for nature.
Do you have a passion for nature? We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate and guide people at this big community event. Any expertise in species identification would also be welcome.
Volunteers need to be available on the weekend of the 30th June/ 1st July and for a handful of meetings/workshops over the next few months.
