'Land to Hand' Bloomery Excavation Family Day

Meeting Point: Blind Lane Forestry Commission Car Park LA12 8LQ (grid reference SD343 912)

This is a family friendly event which allows chlildren to go and visit the Bloomery Excavation site where the team from Liverpool University have been working for a few weeks now. There will be a minibus up to the bloomery from blind lane forestry commission car park, a tour of the site and a chance to take part in activities such as pewter smelting, charcoal making and small basket weaving. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

There will be a total of 4 tours throughout the day, 10.15 am, 12.00 pm, 13.45 pm and 15.30 pm, you will be met at Blind Lane Forestry Commission Car Park see below for directions and then travel to the site via minibus. Booking Essential and please ensure you book for each member of your group.

While at the site you will be able to have guided tour and have the opportunity to take part in the activities mentioned above.

There will be regular trips back to the car park via the minibus.
