POSTPONED: Butterflies of the Rusland Valley - a talk with Chris Winnick, Butterfly Conservation

This event has been postponed due to Coronavirus concerns.

Hay Bridge Nature Reserve Study Centre, Low Hay Bridge, Bouth, LA12 8JG

The Rusland Horizons Butterfly and Moth project is excited to announce our first event of the 2020 season. We are delighted that local lepidopterist and Chairman of Butterfly Conservation Cumbria, Chris Winnick, has kindly agreed to give a talk on the butterflies of Cumbria and the Rusland Valley in particular. We are very lucky that the Rusland Valley is such a biodiversity hotspot for butterflies, with 29 species recorded last year, including some nationally very rare and threatened species. With Chris' knowledge and expertise this promises to be a fascinating evening and an inspiring start to the 2020 butterfly season!

This will also be a great opportunity to meet other local nature enthusiasts and learn about how you can get involved in butterfly and moth conservation in the Rusland area.

The evening will include a 'Jacobs Join' supper so please bring something savoury or sweet to share and come hungry!

Reserve your place using the 'BOOK NOW' button below.

If you would like further information about the event (but not to book) please contact Mary and Rob at: butterflies@ruslandhorizonstrust.org

Please keep an eye out for our other events this summer season, which will include moth mornings, butterfly survey days and practical conservation work.
