POSTPONED: Rusland Horizons: Creative Writing Workshop 1 (or book all 3 workshops)

This event has been postponed due to Coronavirus concerns.

Rusland Horizons is very pleased to offer 3 Creative Writing Workshops (4th April, 2nd May and 4th July), led by Caroline Gilfillan, an experienced creative writing tutor and published author who is based in Ulverston. The 3 workshop days will be themed as follows:

  • Workshop 1: Working Landscape - past and present.
  • Workshop 2: Natural World - looking for small treasures.
  • Workshop 3: Memories - glimpses of the past.

Tickets - please note: Via the 'Book Now' button below, you can book just a 'Workshop 1' ticket (£20) for the first event on 4th April, or select the 'All 3 Workshops' ticket for all 3 events to get a discounted price (£50). To book individual tickets for the 2nd May and 4th July, please go back to 'What's On' and select that individual workshop event.

Please bring a notebook and pen, packed lunch, stout walking boots and wet weather gear. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Caroline Gilfillan has taught creative writing for Lancaster University, the University of East Anglia, and the Open University, and has run community workshops for many groups. Her short stories and poems have won national prizes and been published in magazines including Mslexia and The London Magazine. She’s published four collections of poetry, and works as a mentor to poets and novelists. She loves running workshops, particularly when there’s the opportunity to draw inspiration from the natural world.
There will be writing prompts, lots of encouragement and plenty of opportunity to write in prose, poetry or any other form. No prior writing experience required and will suit all levels of experience. We hope to do an informal celebration reading evening and publish a pamphlet of work in late Autumn to celebrate our creativity.
