Join us for a guided walk along one of our beautiful Greenwood Trails. We will be exploring the second half of route number five, Yewbarrow, which is approximately 4 miles.
The walk passes through peaceful mature woodland and rugged open fell. This section of trail number 5 covers slightly demanding terrain but with clear and distinct paths. They are rough in places with plenty of ups and downs through the woods and a steep ascent towards Rusland Heights.
The route will include a short section of the Rusland valley before climbing up through woodland to Rusland Heights. We will return via Yew Barrow and Great Ellerside.
Discover this wonderful part of the Rusland valley as you are guided through stunning landscapes, learning about the history and heritage of the area along the way.
You can download the trail leaflet here to take a look at where you will be going. Each person will receive a printed Greenwood Trail leaflet on the day, which includes a map of the route and points of interest. These are also printed on waterproof paper - which might prove very useful in the Lake District!
Children are welcome, we suggest the route would be suitable for those aged 10 and over. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Dogs are welcome on the walk, but must be kept under close control at all times.
Donations would be appreciated, with all proceeds going directly to support Rusland Horizons Trust and its future activities. Donations can be given to the walk leader on the day.
