Moth Morning

Join us on Sunday 2nd July for our Moth Morning - the follow up event to our Moth Trapping Evening (Saturday 1st July).

On the Saturday evening, late into the night (and possibly the early hours), at Hay Bridge Nature Reserve, we will watch the marvellous moths being attracted by ultra-violet light into moth traps we will be setting up.

We then have the wonderful job at our Moth Morning on Sunday, of checking and opening the traps to view the many moths from the previous evening, which will all then be released, unharmed. Local moth and butterfly experts and enthusiasts will be on hand to help you identify the moths and tell you a bit more about each one.

There will then be the opportunity to enjoy the stunning surroundings of Hay Bridge Nature Reserve on a guided walk to learn more about the wildlife, nature, and most importantly, the moths and butterflies of the area - some of which are rare and endangered.

You are welcome to join us for either the Moth Trapping Evening on Saturday 1st July, the Moth Morning and trap opening on Sunday 2nd July, or why not come to both.

Details of the Saturday evening Moth Trapping event can be found here.

Both events are free to attend but we ask that, if you are able, a donation is made. This will be split between Rusland Horizons Trust to support its future activities, and Hay Bridge Nature Reserve for the generous use of its facilities.

Children are welcome, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
