Our coppiced woodlands are a haven for wildlife, including plants, birds, moths and butterflies, some of which are threatened. If these woodlands are neglected, vital habitats are lost.
Join us for a day of woodland conservation on our Woodland & Coppice Management work party at Holywell Wood (near Greenodd). Learn the practical skills associated with coppicing, as well as the fundamentals of this traditional, sustainable and productive form of woodland management.
The day will include a range of woodland activities - you can choose which you would like to get involved with - such as tree felling, hedge creation and maintenance, beech and holly removal and hazel coppicing.
No prior experience is needed, just a willingness to learn, get stuck in and get your hands dirty! Members of the Rusland Horizons team will be on-hand to offer advice and guidance if needed.
Suitable for children over 10 years old. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
No dogs, sorry.
