Skills & Swills: New Training Coordinator & Course update

Rebecca Oaks is delighted to join the Rusland Horizons team as the Skills & Swills Training Coordinator.

Rebecca has been deeply immersed in delivering training in all manner of woodland skills, coppicing and greenwood crafts for many years, chairing the Bill Hogarth MBE Memorial Trust for most of them. She says "Although I could be considered a coppice bore, since stepping back from lugging trees around in the woods, I have rediscovered earlier passions for my Shetland sheep and all things woolly, so look out for some interesting and creative options in this year's programme."

Rebecca is joined by volunteers Holly Storey and BHMAT Apprentice Helen Clarke, who will meet & greet and assist on courses when needed. Helen has been doing a brilliant job of this during the first year and Holly is keen to get stuck in.

Booking for the new course programme will not open until August 2017 and the system will be a bit different this year as we will be using the online site Eventbrite for bookings and payments. If computers are not your thing, don't panic as there will be help available and we are planning a priority booking system for residents of the RH scheme area.

If you are interested in courses still to run from this year's programme, we do have space on the three Intermediate Dry Stone Walling courses coming up later this summer - choose to learn how to make Hog Holes, Hecks or Stiles. These courses are aimed at those with some dry stone walling skills, but we can accommodate beginners, please contact us to discuss prior to booking. See What's On for further details.
